1/11 LFW Showstopers

This edition of Lakme Fashion Week saw a power-packed performance by all our talented designers with some great summer fashion inspiration. With a creative platter of unique designers, the showstopper looks were just as mesmerising as the celebrities who were wearing them. The ramp saw a lot of young talent both in designers and showstoppers that is much need to get that fresh new punch in this millennial era. We also saw some eternal beauties like actress Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor Khan that have always lit the floor on fire with their fashion sense.

Let’s review their show-stopping looks and what made them standout.

2/11 Varun Dhawan for Kunal Rawal

Actor Varun Dhawan kick-started the first day of LFW with a show stopping outfit by designer Kunal Rawal. He looked absolutely suave in an all-white ensemble with an ivory embroidered bandhgala to complete the look. Here’s some inspiration to sport one colour with elegance that is a whole class apart.

3/11 Adah Sharma for Galang Gabaan

Actress Adah Sharma walked the ramp for designer Lipsa Hembram’s Galang Gabaan label in a power pink printed dress with asymmetrical layer attachment. The colour complimented her tone well and the layering added a fun playful element to the attire. She looked like a sultry summer diva ready to rock this season.

4/11 Aditi Rao Hydari for Kotwara

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari looked like a fierce princess in this black lehenga by Kotwara. She radiated ethereal beauty in this black with silver brocade exaggerated look. She looked absolutely stunning walking down the ramp in this showstopper design by Kotwara. We loved the traditional yet rebellious design that they chose for their collection.

5/11 Diana Penty for Payal Singhal

Payal Singhal chose actress Diana Penty to display her show-stopping look this fashion week and she did complete justice to this dainty elegant outfit. In a light dusty mauve hue, Diana strutted down the ramp in this beautiful outfit by designer Payal Singhal that had soft intricate embroidery on a sheer fabric as the lehenga and a flouncy top.

6/11 Preity Zinta for Sanjukta Datta

Actress Preity Zinta looked evergreen in this black and red saree with gold motifs by designer Sanjukta Datta’s “Mekhela Chador”. Motifs inspired by Indian temples and monuments, designer Sanjukta brought a modern twist to a traditional attire. It did complete justice to the end of the day with Preity Zinta looking absolutely young and beautiful in this showstopper saree.

7/11 Nimrat Kaur for SVA

We fell head over heels when we saw actress Nimrat Kaur in a wine coloured lehenga by SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi. She looked absolutely gorgeous in this red number with gold embroidery and draped blouse. She shone like a modern bride making a red carpet appearance.

8/11 Vani Kapoor for Label Ritu Kumar

Actress Vani Kapoor walked as showstopper for Label Ritu Kumar in a structured jacket and skirt. With a collection dominated by deep dark hues, she flaunted an ornate biker jacket with a printed maxi skirt. Keeping in mind the “Maharaja Pop” theme of the collection, the motifs were inspired by old palace architecture in modern funky silhouettes. To complete the look she wore a sheer bodysuit for a more pop ensemble.

9/11 Bipasha Basu for Falguni and Shane Peacock

Actress Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock in a pastel plunged neckline gown with floor length cape sleeves. She shone bright like a diamond in this gown that was encrusted with crystals and sequins for a perfect Falguni and Shane Peacock showstopper look.

10/11 Malaika Arora Khan for Divya Reddy

Actress Malaika Arora looked fabulous in a festive red choli with a sunshine layered lehenga with floral embellishments. She lit the ramp on fire with her sultry looks and fiery hued lehenga. The red choli in Divya Reddy’s design made the outfit stand-out and gave that touch of modernity to the festive attire.

11/11 Kareena Kapoor Khan for Anita Dongre

Lastly, the fashion week ended with a royal show stopping look by the Begum herself, Kareena Kapoor Khan, wearing Anita Dongre’s sheer ivory yellow floor length outfit. She looked like absolute royalty and it was a perfect outdoors end to a great fashion week. The motif embroidery with Anita’s Signature Gota and Swarovski crystals on a sheer long jacket complimented Kareena’s post-baby body well and she made the perfect last impression.
